Carista OBD2 is a mobile app for iPhone and Android (App Store / Google Play) that turns a phone into a car diagnostic and coding tool. It works with a Carista Bluetooth scanner plugged into the OBD2 port (Carista EVO Scanner or Carista OBD Reader).
Free version: basic fault codes (engine, check engine light), basic OBD2 live data and emissions readiness. Carista Pro subscription (monthly, annual or two-year plans; one subscription for all your vehicles): advanced diagnostics of all ECUs (ABS, SRS, transmission, TPMS, manufacturer-specific codes) with a car health report and AI explanations of fault codes, used-car health check, one-click customizations of manufacturer-hidden features (seatbelt chime, auto-fold mirrors, welcome / cornering lights, alarm settings and more), service resets and maintenance tools (oil reset, battery registration, EPB, DPF regeneration, throttle adaptation), extended live data and service tools such as a Dyno Test (beta). Customizations stay in the car after the subscription ends and can be undone.
Carista lists 30+ supported car brands (incl. VW Group as an official partner); available functions depend on the make, model, year and scanner – check the car on carista.com/apps/supported-cars. On carista.com (EU store) the 12-month Pro subscription costs €59.99; prices differ by country and store.

Coverage shown is the same as for the Carista EVO Scanner. The app needs a compatible Carista adapter (EVO Scanner or OBD Reader); the Reader has the Ford/GM limits described on its page. Free: basic fault codes, OBD2 live data and emissions readiness; everything else needs Carista Pro. VAG SFD unlock needs Pro, two-factor authentication and, per Carista, the EVO Scanner. Check your VIN in the app.
